Blair Marini Bowman, LCSW, CEDS-C

I specialize in working with individuals and families struggling with feeding and eating challenges. For some of my clients, that looks like  chronic dieting, restriction, or binge eating coupled with body image concerns. For others, that looks like a fear of eating due to a history of food trauma or highly selective sensory preferences. I work with parents who are struggling to support and feed their child and/or who are interested in creating a positive food culture in the home, decrease conflict at the table, and raise confident, intuitive eaters.

I have a unique speciality and extensive training in treating individuals with ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).

In addition to feeding and eating disorders (ARFID, Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, OSFED,  picky eaters) I also work with a wide range of struggles including:

Body Image

Body Dysmorphia

Self Esteem and Identity Issues

Perfectionism and High-Achiever Burn Out

Anxiety Disorders

Perinatal Challenges

Depression

Trauma

Substance Use

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Grief and Loss

Relational and Interpersonal Issues

Life Transitions

Blair's Background

I grew up living half in Jacksonville, FL and half in Charlotte, NC and completed my undergraduate BSW at Appalachian State. After college, I moved to Atlanta and worked with survivors of human trafficking in an Independent Living Program for several years. I went on to complete my Masters of Social Work at University of New England and then moved to Durham, NC where I worked at a higher level of care facility for eating disorder treatment. My passion for eating disorder work grew from there and I have been working in outpatient therapy with a focus on ED work ever since.

When I'm not  in sessions, you can find me spending time with my husband and baby boy, traveling the world as much as possible, making pasta from scratch, or bopping around vintage consignment shops with a latte in hand.
