Blair Marini Bowman, LCSW, CEDS-C
Eating Disorder Therapist

Blair Marini Bowman, LCSW, CEDS-C

Blair is  a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, Clinical Supervisor and Consultant, and the Owner of Free Form Counseling. She has been in practice for over 8 years and has worked at all levels of care. She is a relationally based therapist, meaning she aims to offer a grounding, connected, and committed therapeutic relationship that fosters the sense of security needed to do true healing work.

Most of Blair's clients are struggling with disordered eating, body image issues, family feeding issues, relationship challenges, and/or overly controlled perfectionism. Blair has a unique speciality and extensive training in treating individuals with ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). After years of specializing in this niche eating disorder, she grew a passion for helping parents to feed picky eaters, create a positive food culture in the home, and raise intuitive, confident eaters.

Blair grew up living first in Jacksonville, FL and then in Charlotte, NC. She completed her undergraduate BSW at Appalachian State. After college, she moved to Atlanta and worked with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence for several years. Blair went on to complete her Masters of Social Work at University of New England and then began working through all the levels of care for eating disorder treatment, where her love for ED work grew. She has found her home in Richmond, VA and in Free Form Counseling.

When not in sessions, you can find Blair spending time with her husband and baby boy, traveling the world as much as possible, making pasta from scratch, or bopping around vintage consignment shops with a latte in hand.

Nana Aba Otabil, LPC
Eating Disorder Therapist

Nana Aba Otabil, LPC

Nana Aba (or Nana!) is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 6 years of experience in the field. She believes that healing happens in connection — connection to self, to others, and to what brings you meaning. Her work is trauma informed, body positive, compassionate, and creative. She aims to blend her clinical expertise and your expertise in yourself to guide you towards health and healing. Nana is currently working towards her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist certification.

Nana specializes in working with individuals navigating eating disorders, chronic illness, and ADHD. She loves to work with adolescents and adults who are seeking a restored relationship with their bodies while navigating a variety of Women's Health issues.  Having lived the experience of immigrating to this country, she is also especially equipped to support individuals in the immigrant and BIPOC communities.

Nana grew up in Ghana, West Africa and moved to the USA to continue her education and earn her Masters in Clinical Mental Health at Johns Hopkins University. She began her journey as a therapist working in outpatient mental health with a focus in trauma and ADHD. Along the way, she discovered that she loved working with the disordered eating and body disconnection elements that often came up in that work. This sparked a passion in working with eating disorders and led her to specialize in this field.

Outside of the therapy room, Nana loves cozying up with a good book, exploring cute coffee shops,  attempting to keep her plant alive, and spending time with family and friends.
